A Challenge From The Past

This was one on my biggest challenges.  I bought it, much to Loraine’s surprise (or was it shock!), for a few quid. I found out that it is a Carolean chair.   It had several breaks and parts of the carvings were damaged.  It seemed a shame to paint it but because of the damage it had to be filled and it could only be disguised by paint.  It turned out pretty well though after gluing and dowels in the breaks plus a little paint magic from Loraine. The fabric was a beautiful thick raised pattern although difficult to staple!  This was before I had my air stapler.   It sold pretty quickly. Anyway, here are the pictures:-
